Csongrád-Csanád

Comté du sud de la Hongrie formé en 2020 par la fusion des comtés de Csongrád et Csanád-Békés, connu pour sa production agricole et la rivière Tisza.

Csongrád-Csanád is a county in southern Hungary, in Europe. It was formed in 2020 by merging the former counties of Csongrád and Csanád-Békés, so it brings together two areas that were administered separately until then.

What the county is known for

The county is best known for its agricultural production, which shapes much of the landscape and the daily life of its towns and villages. Visitors who enjoy open country, working farmland and the rhythm of rural Hungary will find the county a fitting place to spend time.

The Tisza River also runs through the area and is one of the defining features of the county. Its presence gives the landscape a sense of water and space, and makes the river a natural focus for anyone wanting a slower pace.

What a visit offers

  • A look at Hungary's agricultural heartland outside the capital
  • Time along the Tisza River and its surrounding countryside
  • A quieter, rural counterpoint to the larger cities of the region

Because Csongrád-Csanád is a county rather than a single town, it works best as a base for exploring several places in one trip. Travellers planning a route should check the individual towns and sites they hope to see, as the county's character is spread across its settlements and countryside rather than concentrated in one location.
