ベニ県

ボリビア北部の行政区画で、アマゾンの熱帯雨林、生物多様性、畜牛業で知られ、Trinidadが州都である。

Beni is one of the nine departments of Bolivia, an administrative division in the north of the country, in South America. Its capital is Trinidad. The department is known for its Amazon rainforest, its rich biodiversity, and its cattle ranching, which together give the region a character quite different from the highland cities many visitors associate with Bolivia.

What a visit offers

Beni suits travellers interested in the natural world. The rainforest and its wildlife are the main draw, and the department's biodiversity is a central part of its identity. Visitors who enjoy slow, outdoor travel, and who like to watch landscapes and wildlife at their own pace, will likely find the region rewarding.

  • Rainforest landscapes, part of the wider Amazon basin
  • Biodiversity, a defining feature of the department
  • Cattle ranching country, which shapes daily life and the open landscapes of the plains

Getting oriented

Trinidad, the capital, is the natural starting point for a visit to the department and the place to plan from. Because the region is remote compared with Bolivia's major highland cities, it helps to research transport and local arrangements before you go, and to check current conditions with local sources. Beni is best approached by travellers who are comfortable with a less developed, more rural setting.
