751年に新羅王国時代に建立された、ユネスコ世界遺産であり仏教芸術の傑作です。この寺院建造物群は、洗練された石造建築によって仏教における仏国土の概念を表現しています。

Bulguksa Temple stands in Gyeongju, in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also known as Bulguk Temple. The complex was built in 751 during the Silla Kingdom and is regarded as a masterpiece of Buddhist art.

What to see

The temple is known for its sophisticated stone architecture, which is central to the visit. Its layout was designed to represent the Buddhist concept of the land of Buddha, so walking through the grounds is itself part of the experience. Visitors come to look closely at the stonework and to understand how the buildings and courtyards fit together as a whole.
