This mural by Artducommun was created in 2019 and can be found at 380 rue Provost, in the Lachine borough of Montreal. It is painted on the building of the Maison des Jeunes l'Escalier de Lachine, a youth centre, and was realized under the city's Programme d'art mural, second component.
What to expect
- Type of visit: a street-art stop, best taken on foot as part of a walk through the neighbourhood.
- Location: on rue Provost, in Lachine, on the western side of the island of Montreal.
- Setting: the mural is part of a community building, so it reflects the everyday life of the local area rather than a formal gallery setting.
Around the mural
Lachine is a residential borough with its own character, and a visit here pairs well with time spent along the nearby streets and waterfront. Visitors interested in public art can look for other murals listed in the city's public art records, which is a good way to see how the programme has shaped different parts of Montreal.
For more details on the work, the City of Montreal maintains a dedicated page for this mural, which is the most reliable place to check the information before you go.
