The Czartoryski Museum is a historic museum in Kraków, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, at Pijarska 15. It is part of the National Museum network and is also known as the Muzeum Książąt Czartoryskich or Muzeum Czartoryskich.
What you will see
The collection holds European masterpieces, and its best-known work is Leonardo da Vinci's Lady with an Ermine. For many visitors, that single painting is reason enough to come, but the rest of the collection gives the visit more depth than one picture alone.
Planning your visit
- Address: Pijarska 15, 31-015 Kraków, Poland
- Phone: +48 12 370 54 60
- Setting: a historic museum in the centre of an old city, so it pairs easily with a walk through the surrounding streets
Because the museum is part of the National Museum network, you can expect a formal, well-organised collection rather than a small local display. Check the museum's contact details before you go for current information on opening times, tickets and entry arrangements, as these are not set out here.
Around the museum
Kraków is a city of old streets, churches and squares, and the museum sits within that setting. Plan time to wander afterwards, and allow yourself a slower pace so that you can take in the paintings properly before moving on.
